Joy is the Office Manager at 1st United Realty, Inc. Her duties include directing your calls and visits to the real estate agents, keeping office records and files in order, while helping 1st United Realty Agents do their very best to serve sellers and buyers in the Detroit Lakes real estate area.

Joy started working in the Real Estate business 15 years ago in 1993  for Lorsung Realty in Detroit Lakes and now, for the last 11 years  at 1st United Realty, Inc. It is an ever-changing business, yet keeping the real estate office materials ready and available for the 1st United Realty agents to give quality service to sellers and buyers never changes.

Joy and her husband Kermit, (a retired Aviation Technician,) have been married over 45 years.  They also enjoy being grandparents to their 7 grandchildren: Joanna, Hans, Blake, Dessirae, Winn, Corey and Kari.

They have two married sons. Their eldest, Ken, who is married to Kim (Palmquist,)  have four children. He is an independent contractor, constructing and remodeling homes, and also owns and operates Royal Auto Glass.  Kim is busy home schooling their children.

Their second son, Kyle and wife, Gidget  (Gunderson,)  have three children. Kyle does Alignment work at Norsemen Motors plus owns and operates Tinker Bows; making and selling bows and arrows for archery enthusiasts. Gidget, also home schools their children and works as a Manager at the Holiday Inn of Detroit Lakes.
