Diana was born and raised in Becker County, the oldest child of Joe and Margaret Stenger. She has eight brothers and sisters, many who still reside in the Rochert/Frazee area. Her father was an excavator who taught her brothers the business. Four of her brothers are still in the excavating business. Diana graduated from Frazee High School and went on to Business College in Detroit Lakes. Her first job was for the city engineer of Detroit Lakes and she says she was the do everything person for the four men in the office (Secretarial, Bookeeping, Payroll). She married Marvin Vareberg about two years later and continued working for the city engineer until her fourth son was born. Marvin and Diana now have eight children, seven sons and one daughter. Most of her children still live in the Detroit Lakes/Pelican Rapids area. Diana and her husband moved to Mankato where they operated a trucking business for two years , later moving to Prior Lake and living there for eleven years. Because it was a family business, Diana continued doing all the book work even after they moved back to Detroit Lakes and started a well business and operated a family farm with their eight children. After over twenty five years with the well company, she not only learned the back roads and the area but a lot about area real estate, wells and farming. Diana now has twenty two grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.

Diana still lives on the family farm north of Detroit Lakes but with her children out of the house, she and her sister Mary Wosika decided to start a new career. In 1998, both ladies took the real estate classes, the real estate test and both achieved the real estate license in the spring of 1999. Both ladies are now Realtors for the 1st Team of 1st United Realty of Detroit Lakes. Usually the sisters work together so their clients get two for the price of one. With the "sister team" as the other agents call them, one of them is always available should a client call unexpectedly to buy or sell Detroit Lakes Real Estate. Diana certainly has the knowledge of the area, and the desire to do a good job for you. She loves working with people and being part of the multiple listing service, has the availability to sell almost any realty in the area.
